Dr. Mazin Merdad is an Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon. He is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and is the Chairman of the department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at King Abdulaziz University. He has advanced expertise in the surgical treatment of a variety of Head and Neck diseases, including thyroid, parathyroid and parotid tumors. He also has special interests in the treatment of nasal breathing issues including deviated nasal septum surgeries. Further, he treats a wide variety of pediatric related ear, nose and throat conditions.
Dr. Merdad is a member of several international societies including the American and the Canadian Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Societies and the American Thyroid Association. He is an author of many scientific articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals. He also serves as a reviewer for high impact medical journals including Head & Neck and The Laryngoscope.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. merdad obtained a Master degree in Public Health from Tufts University, Boston, Massachusetts. He then completed his residency program at the department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, University of Toronto, Canada. In addition, Dr. Merdad was the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology fellow at The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he performed complex head and neck and robotic surgeries.

specialty, and is an integral part of many Otolaryngology practices. It is concerned mainly with treating head and neck tumors. The specialty as whole is now commonly referred to as Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
